The objective of FLEXSOLAR (Low cost and low environmental impact, flexible thin film solar cells based on II-VI semiconductors) is to develop an innovative technology for the fabrication of II- VI semiconductors thin film PV on flexible metallic substrates, which is based on the innovative Pulsed Plasma Deposition (PPD) technique. The PPD deposition allows to reduce the energy necessary to produce a PV device and it is easily scalable to industrial standard.
The CNR-IMM was involved in microstructural characterization of the PV devices by mean of X-ray and electron microscopy techniques.
