Research Activity

In my research I address scientific and technological problems at the nanoscale, focusing on low dimensional materials like carbon nanotubes, graphene and graphene oxide membranes and other two-dimensional crystals. I work to develop new strategies to integrate carbon-based nanomaterials into micro electro-mechanical systems, tuning their physical behavior to control the properties of the final micro-systems. Within the Graphene Flagship Program our group is contributing to graphene nanocomposites research, to transfer the impressive properties of this material from the atomic to meso- and macroscopic level, enabling new materials with superior electrical, optical and mechanical functionalities.
