The main recipients of the initiatives described in this section are the general public and schools. The general purposes of disseminating research activities and results at this level are:

• to increase the awareness of citizens and society of the key role of science and scientific research to address the fundamental challenges of the future;
• to stimulate the interest in science among young people and encourage them to pursue studies and careers in science.
